16-Year-Old Girl Arrested in Nagano for Allegedly Abandoning Newborn’s Body

A 16-year-old girl has been arrested in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, on suspicion of abandoning the body of a newborn baby at her home. The arrest was made by police on April 6, according to local reports.

The girl, who is unemployed and lives in Ueda, is accused of leaving the baby’s body in her residence sometime between early March and April 5. Police received a call from someone connected to the girl on the evening of April 5, prompting them to search the home, where they found the body of a baby boy.
During questioning, the girl admitted to the allegations, and police believe she is the mother of the child. They are now investigating further to confirm details and understand the circumstances.

The girl was living with her family at the time of the incident. This tragic case has shocked the local community and raised concerns about support for young people in Japan.
