Made In Abyss Season 2 To Have An Hour Long Final Episode

The official website of Made In Abyss anime revealed on Aug 28, 2022, that the 12th and final episode of the second season will have a runtime of one hour. The episode will air on Sep 28, 2022.

A pre-screening event for the final episode will also be held at the EJ Anime Theatre in Shinjuku on Sep 25, 2022. The event will be attended by voice actors Miyu Tomita (voices Riko), Mariya Ise (voices Reg) and Shiori Izawa (voices Nanachi). Kevin Penkin, who composed the music for the anime, will also be present.

The ticket sale for the event will begin from Sep 10. A person can purchase a maximum of two tickets.

The second season of the anime, titled Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, started airing on July 6, 2022.

Kinema Citrus is in charge of animating the second season, with Masayuki Kojima returning to direct the series.

The other returning key staff for the series include:

  • Sound Director: Yo Yamada

Yuka Kuroda and Teru Sekiguchi are new additions to the staff this term. They will be serving as character designer and art director respectively.

The cast from previous season and the movie of the anime returned for the second season, with new cast members joining them.

The Made in Abyss manga is made by Akihito Tsukushi and was published under Bamboo Comics label. It began serializing in 2012.

The manga received an anime adaptation in 2017. It was followed by two compilation movies Made In Abyss: Journey’s Dawn and Made In Abyss: Wandering Twilight, which were released in January 2019, and a sequel movie, titled Made In Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul, which released in Japan on January 2020.
